In 1889, when Germany's industrial output surpassed that of agriculture, it became an industrial powerhouse. The Industrial Revolution, which took Britain nearly 100 years to complete, took less than half that time in Germany.
When the First World War broke out in 1914, the German automobile industry had basically formed an independent industrial sector, and the application of gasoline engines in automobiles was becoming more and more popular. Gasoline engines provided great opportunities for the development of petrochemical products. This also laid a solid foundation for the success of "Norbert" in the future.
In 1929, its founder Thomas (Thomas) established a chemical company named Thomas in Luwigshafen, known as the "chemical capital" in northern Germany, which was mainly engaged in the research and development of petrochemical products and the production and manufacture of petrochemical products. At an occasional party, Thomas (Thomas) completely changed his fate when he met Fritrich Benz, the head of Mercedes-Benz. The two have had business contacts since then.
In 1931, Thomas Chemical Company started manufacturing motor oils for automobiles on its own and established the first external production plant at the Mannheim Industrial Port. From then on, the German Norbert Petrochemical Company was born.
In addition to supplying automotive lubricating oil products to Mercedes-Benz, the German Norbert Petrochemical Company also supplies lubricating oil products to other automobile companies in Germany. The lubricating oil products of the German Norbert Petrochemical Company have been sold only in Germany. From the date of manufacturing the first batch of lubricating oil products, it has been around German automobile companies for decades. During World War II, the German Norbert Petrochemical Company also supplied lubricating oil products used by war army machinery for Nazi troops.
In 1973, the World Rally Championship appeared, and with the German car franchise, the German Norbert Petrochemical Company's lubricating oil products also began to go abroad with the car, and began to let consumers in other countries know with the car race. Since 1981, the German Norbert Petrochemical Company has sponsored several car rally championships, and since then, Norbert lubricants have been sold worldwide.
Norbert Lubricants is sold in 46 countries around the world and has more than 70 marketing activities.
In order to meet the increasingly harsh racing environment requirements and develop high-performance lubricating oil products, in 1987, the German Norbert Petrochemical Company established its first laboratory in Munich. Since then, Norbert's lubricating oil technology has developed like a tiger.
In 1997, "Norbert Synthetic Oil" was launched and became popular in Germany. Its products were the first to use synthetic base oils, making it one of the first brands in the world to use synthetic oils to produce lubricants.
In 1999, the secondary hydrocracking technology was applied to Product Research & Development. All products of the company use hydrogenated oil to blend high-grade lubricating oil products. The first company to use secondary hydrogenated base oil to manufacture lubricating oil in the same period as Mobil and Shell.
In 1996, with the continuous development of industry, the Munich laboratory developed a new type of high-end oil product suitable for the lubrication of modern industrial equipment, and with the increase in the sales of industrial lubricants, in 2000, Norbert turned its focus to the supply of industrial oils. In 2006, the sales of industrial oils even exceeded the sales of automotive oils.
In the past ten years, Norbert has accelerated the export of industrial specialty products and established foreign offices in many European countries.
